Our Social Commitment

Social Commitment

"School reform suffers ... from the problem of the ideal case."
-James Traub, New York Times, 2000, "What No School Can Do"

Although we hold firmly to the belief that education affords students the greatest opportunity towards resolving poverty, we also recognize that schools by themselves cannot solve the inequities of poverty alone. The need for supplementary education for students in disadvantaged areas is understated.

Therefore, we have enrolled, and will continue to enroll students into our highly effective programs for all students in need. We have provided over $25,000 (as of 2011) in scholarship aid to students & families who otherwise would never have had access to high quality supplemental educational services like ours.

We commit ourselves to never turn students away based strictly on their ability to pay.

Partnerships

We are working hard to partner with aligned community organizations, charter schools, public school districts, independent schools, and other like-minded organizations that serve disadvantaged youths in low-income regions. We encourage these organizations to contact us at any time at info@pittsburghprep.com. Students and parents alike should ask their schools to contact us - we are committed to addressing your needs.

Pittsburgh Prep hopes to partner with local schools to provide a channel for qualified students to either (1) attend independent schools and/or (2) receive supplmental educational guidance through our academic programs that fully integrates all demographics in our classes to create a diverse, challenging environment for our students.
